The Concord industrial area, near Highway 400, Highway 407, and Steeles Avenue, includes many warehousing, trucking and trade-contractor locations in Vaughan. The City of Vaughan describes the city as one of Ontario's major transportation hubs with a strong logistics and distribution sector. Individual fleets still choose sites for their own reasons — Concord is not a single, uniform operating pattern for every operator.
Concord is directly associated with the MacMillan Yard area and remains connected by Vaughan's highway network to the separate CPKC intermodal terminal in west Vaughan. Highway 400 and Highway 407 access supports north–south and east–west freight movement; exact travel times depend on the specific yard address and traffic conditions.
A heavy-duty diesel commercial motor vehicle with a Registered Gross Weight (RGW) over 4,500 kg needs an emissions test when it is being registered by a new owner and the vehicle is older than the current model year, or when it is at least seven model years old and the plate sticker is being renewed. For a Concord-based fleet, those triggers apply the same way whether a truck works the 400/407 corridor daily or only passes through occasionally.
RGW is the registered permit value used with DriveON emissions triggers. GVWR is the manufacturer's rating and, with model year, helps determine when an OBD system test is also part of the emissions inspection. Qualifying heavy-duty diesels receive opacity testing; eligible vehicles also receive an OBD check or OBD data collection under the current DriveON directive.
An authorized mobile DriveON facility and registered DriveON technician can inspect prepared units at an eligible yard when safe access and suitable testing conditions are available. The yard's location does not change the legal test standard.
A fixed vehicle inspection centre can still be practical for an owner-operator with one truck, a flexible schedule, or a unit already near a VIC on a route stop.
Multi-unit fleets benefit most when due trucks are staged together for one visit. Confirm RGW, model year and GVWR for each unit and ensure a safe test location. Related guides: CN MacMillan Yard corridor and CPKC Vaughan vs. MacMillan. Book through Piotr Service.
